WELCOME TO MISS MCGILVRA'S CLASS!!!
What a fantastic year!! We are getting closer to theThanksgiving holidays and have just started the Second nine weeks. In math we are doing number corner each morning working on place value, comparison, time, money, expanded notation, number lines, creating our own word problems and weather. We have a lot of work ahead of us. We have all been doing a great job on learning how to count money and tell time. In Science and Social Studies we have just ended our unit on Living and non-living. We did an activity with real worms!! It was very exciting. We are currently going to be studying the Historical Perspective of Lufkin. Progress reports will be coming out very soon. Please make sure and read with your child each night. All students need to be reading a level 20 by the end of this nine weeks. Read, read, everynight and make sure your child is reading their library books also. They may take an AR test on the computer after they have read their book. This will help build comprehension and fluency.
